When it comes to outdoor lighting fixtures for home use, you have a lot of options. There may not be as many
options as for indoors, but the choice is still quite varied. Good outdoor lighting can provide a practical use and
attractive appearance to any home. We will discuss some of the more common choices that people have to make for
their outdoor home lighting.
On the more practical side, there is the most common use of outdoor lighting for your home; lighting the
entrance so you can actually see what you are doing when you are approaching your door. This can also have an
effect on security as people are far less likely to try and break into a well lit up entrance. Lighting for an

are just a couple of examples out countless ways of having both a practical and attractive lighting to your
entrance.
Another common form of outdoor lighting fixture for your home is pathway lighting. These as well can have both a
practical and decorative function. Lighting a pathway from your driveway to your entrance for example, can me the
journey between the two areas much safer by allowing you to see much better. When good lighting is used as well,
there can be a dramatic and beautiful effect with the lighting.
Landscape lighting can also be used for both aesthetic and practical uses. Decking and outdoor areas can be have
plenty of low light source providing a gentle light that also defines the outline of your decking, outdoor activity
area, or whatever. This can be mixed in with brighter lights that provide the more functional lighting for regular
activity thus providing a layered lighting with multiple effects and uses.
These are just a few examples of what outdoor lighting fixtures for home use can actually accomplish. The
reality is that good lighting can provide so much more than just the few examples that I have listed here.
